The Laurels is situated in the beautiful village of Oakamoor close to Alton Towers. (Just 5 minutes in the car)
If you’re using a sat nav, please use ST10 3DF otherwise you’ll end up in the middle of nowhere.
It’s also on the edge of the Peak District, being just 15 minutes from the picturesque Dovedale – An area of outstanding natural beauty.
If you’re in the area for walking or cycling, The Laurels is perfectly situated. Apart from being near to The Peak District, it has beautiful walks and cycle paths very close by, so you can spend a day out without even getting into the car.
The Laurels has the added advantage of being on the ‘quiet’ side of Alton Towers. This means you avoid any traffic queues in the morning.

If coming from Alton Towers, turn right out of the park.
After 1.2 miles turn left at the junction by the Olde Star Inn.
Go down the steep, windy hill. In just under a mile you’ll go into a 30 mph limit.
Immediately after the Oakamoor village sign we are on the left, up a drive, through a Laurel bush arch. This is opposite Rosebank Crescent.

The nearest train station is Blythe Bridge. A taxi from there would be approximately £15.
Stoke on Trent station has direct connections to many parts of the county. Taxis will cost around £30
There is also a train station at Uttoxeter.
