The very first Staffordshire Day on May 1st will be celebrated in style at World of Wedgwood, with a fine food and artisan craft market along with lots of family fun and festivities to mark this special day, which is also the anniversary of the formation of the Wedgwood pottery company.
As well as lots of stalls selling locally produced gourmet food and drink, confectionery, handmade gifts such as jewellery and glassware and garden furniture, there will be plenty of attractions that will make the inaugural Staffordshire Day truly memorable for visitors.
Fun, games and entertainment will be provided throughout the day by renowned jester The Fool Monty. There will also be a maypole, complete with musical accompaniment, giving both children and adults alike the opportunity to learn some traditional dances from an experienced instructor.
In addition, The Cultural Sisters, the visual and participatory arts organisation, will be running children’s craft workshops to make colourful kites inspired by Wedgwood’s floral, bird and butterfly designs using willow, paper, tape, colourful ribbons and twine. Families will be able to take their creations away with them as a reminder of their day.
